This classic building tool has become an internationally recognised brand which is built around buying and selling the small build-able bricks. it has become popular in kids over the decades such that it is titled and honored as toy of the century.

In 1949, Ole Christiansen, a Danish carpenter, created a set of interlocking red-and-white “Automatic Binding Blocks"— which became famous as LEGO bricks.

Lego group has progressed significantly over the past very nearly 80 years - from a little craftsman's workshop to a cutting edge, worldwide undertaking that is presently one of the world's biggest makers of toys.

Today Lego Group has also built several amusement parks around the world, each known as Legoland,  and operates numerous retail stores.

The name 'LEGO' is originated from two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well".

The LEGO Group began in 1932 in Billund, Denmark, has come a long way over the past almost 80 years - from a small carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now one of the world’s largest manufacturers of toys.

In 1958, the LEGO organization protected these building blocks( by patenting) with little interlocking studs and tubes that allowed two blocks to join in 24 distinctive ways. Only six blocks or bricks could join in 102,981,500 different ways!

Lego Brick: Manufactured With Exact Degree of Precision

The Lego brick is made universally such that a LEGO block from 1958 would interlock with a block from 2015. The patent presented what is known as a "general framework" so each piece is good with every other piece, regardless of the year or set it has a place with.

The Danish toy trade magazine Legetøjs-Tidende, visiting the Lego factory in Billund in the early 1950s, concluded that plastic would never be able to replace traditional wooden toys.Although, Lego toys seem to have become a significant exception to the dislike of plastic in children's toys, due in part to the high quality standards set by founder Ole Kirk.
The Lego Group's motto is "det bedste er ikke for godt" which implies generally "just the best is the best" (more truly "the best is never too good").This witticism, which is as yet utilized today, was made by Christiansen to urge his workers never to hold back on quality, a value he had belief and  confidence in very strongly.
