Lahore to Initiate First Phase of Plantation Drive Across 25 Private Societies to Combat Smog

LAHORE: The Commissioner of Lahore, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has initiated a plan to tackle the city’s growing smog problem.

In a recent tweet from the Commissioner’s official Twitter account, it was announced that Private Housing Societies would be invited to participate in anti-smog initiatives.

The first phase of the plantation drive will witness the planting of 250,000 fruit and flowering plants, each measuring 5 to 6 feet in height, across 25 private societies under the Lahore Development Authority’s supervision.

During a meeting chaired by the Commissioner of Lahore, the necessary directives were issued to implement this decision.

The inclusion of private housing societies in the green city and anti-smog initiatives is a significant move towards making Lahore a healthier and more sustainable city.

The initiative aims to increase the green cover in the city, which has declined significantly due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization in Lahore.

The plantation drive is a vital component of the city’s broader efforts to Combat Smog and pollution.
