So this is the usual way by which any product gets launched in the market. First, you do a market research to identify what the customers want, then develop the product, then market and after that sell. In this strategy, profit is not guarenteed. 

Suppose we take that you get a profit, still you cannot say for sure that the demand for your product will persist and you need to do marketing again and again to make sure that the customers are reminded and persuaded. This will take a huge chunk out of your profits.
