Position SummaryA clean and appealing restaurant is critical in creating an exceptional service and dining experience for our guests. Our Steward will be responsible for keeping the Front of House and Back of House clean. They are key team members that are the backbone of our service first company. This role reports to the Kitchen Manager. Employee Benefits Include:No waiting period to use accrued PTOTraining Leadership Development ProgramsNational Discounts & much more!Job Duties Wash, sanitize, and storage of all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glassware, utensils, and other kitchen equipment as assigned by the Outlet Chef General cleaning of the kitchen, including the kitchen floors - sweeping and mopping floors per the established guidelines and/or as directed by the Outlet Chef. Clean spills in kitchen immediately Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work area and bathrooms Keep dishware washing and pot washing areas clean and properly set up, stainless steel polished and spot free; floor wiped and free of debris garbage disposal emptied; compactor clean, and breakdown of all boxes Clean up and wipe down station at the end of shift Maintain all equipment in good working order through proper use and care Provide support for both the Front and Back of the House operations by ensuring the necessary wares and equipment are always available and have been properly cleaned and sanitized Empty garbage cans from the main kitchen and other designated areas. Rubbish is to be removed at regular intervals and disposed of in the designated location Maintain trash compactor and trash room keeping free from odors, hose down regularly using appropriate cleaning solutions when needed Clean floor and mats in kitchen and other designated areas at assigned intervals Complete special projects as assigned by Outlet Chef, such as cleaning of filters, ovens, refrigerators, mixers, refrigerators, racks, metal surface polishing, etc Adhere to all State and Local Health Department rules and regulations Other duties as assigned Qualifications The ability to work in a fast pace, high energy environment. Able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Must have current Health Card. Ability to work flexible hours Strong attention to detail. Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Physical Requirements This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to; Lifting, up to 50 pounds bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen. Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment. Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
