We hire kind and adaptable people with the heart and desire to help our elders and one another.Depending on your employment status, you may have access to the following:Access to a full range of premium benefits (UHC Medical, United Concordia Dental, VSP Vision, 401k + match and more!)Onsite Wellness Center with gym and warm-water poolDiscounts in BistroEducation Reimbursement ProgramPaid time offAn opportunity to do the best work of your life$17.50/hr to up to $21.00/hr with experience.SummaryTends laundering machines to clean articles such as rags, bags, kitchen towels, tablecloth's, linen, etc., by performing the following duties:Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSorts soiled laundry into proper bins for washing; pre-spotting may be necessaryWears proper PPE such as aprons and vinyl or latex gloves at all times while handling soiled laundryRemoves linens from washer changing gloves in between loadsMaintains cleanliness of laundry rooms by disposing of trash and disinfecting all bins, machines, and floor prior to leaving at the end of the evening shiftReports all hazardous conditions or equipment failure to supervisorLoads soiled items into washer and selects appropriate program to launder the itemsLifts clean, wet items from washer and places them into drier for measured time cyclesSorts dried articles according to identification numbers or typeFolds and places items in appropriate storage binsSorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry listsDelivers linens to floors and bathersSoaks contaminated articles in neutralizer solution in vat to precondition articles prior to washingAssures that work schedules are followed as closely as is practicalPerforms weekly and monthly inventory checks Turns in any items found in the laundry to supervisorEmployee may be asked to cross-train and work in other function areas of housekeeping or laundryOther duties may be assignedEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
