Beverage Assistant Manager

Salary: Depending on Experience (DOE)

This position is with providing management to all levels of the beverage department and will assist with actively supervising, coaching, counseling, directing, training and mentoring beverage team in meeting and exceeding quality standards by performing the following duties, as well as demonstrating the GILA WAY.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the effective beverage management within a casino environment.
  • Ensures total compliance with all responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Effectively and compliantly addresses any alcohol service or compliance issues; immediately investigates, documents and reports all issues or findings to management.
  • Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with Enterprises' policy and practice.
  • Assist with supervising team members on the proper instructions of alcohol handing, cash handling and workplace safety rules.
  • Assist with providing on-going direction, supervision and mentoring to staff. Monitor product quality and ensures high level of guest service.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical problems with MICROS Point of Sale (POS) systems, from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Responsible for supervising the opening, closing and balancing of any and all accounting practices, as necessary.
  • Generates employee schedules and verifies employee time for all bar outlets.
  • Responsible for the on-going training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly team members, as directed by department management.
  • Responsible for the management of events from set-up to tear down, including handling all communication with hourly team members and guests.
  • Hands-on approach to serving times, quality and execution.
  • Protects branded concepts through audits and compliance processes.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends. Analyzes shift activity for areas of efficiency or improvement. Seeks opportunity for innovation and upselling. Recommends service or product improvements to management.
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing Pathways Mentorship Program participants to successfully transition to management level positions.
  • Maintains a dependable work attendance record with extremely infrequent absences and/or lateness.
  • Performs other special projects andduties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises multiple employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Skills/ Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in Food and Beverage management required.
  • Experience working in a fast paced high volume bar, restaurant or nightclub is preferred.
  • In-depth wine, beer, and spirituous liquor knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly and calculate basic math functions as they relate to point-of-sale cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
  • Ability to perform the GILA WAY which is as follows; Greet our guest, Interact positively with our guest, Listen actively to our guest, Appreciate our guest.
  • Must acquire and maintain a valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Blood-Borne Pathogens (BBP) and other required compliance trainings.
  • Must possess excellent guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, and be aself-starter with the ability to follow-up and complete tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as well as to gain the cooperation of guests and fellow team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • This position must have, or an ability to acquire within one year, an in-depth knowledge and thorough understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical rules relevant to their responsibilities.

Important Notes

As a condition of employment, all new hires must pass the following:

Pre-employment Alcohol/Drug Test. This drug test includes the normal seven-panel test, but excludes marijuana for non-safety sensitive positions.
