Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Air Force Recreation Area, Fort Tuthill. Provides routine maintenance on rental equipment, i.e. simple bike repair, ski tuning, winter equipment cleaning and tube repair. Occasionally be required to operate a motor vehicle. Responsibilities Day to day operation of the bike, canoe, ski and snowboard rental and tube run. Assists customers with the proper usage of the equipment, answering questions on the locations and regulations of the areas which equipment is to be used and monitoring proper safety practices on the tube run. Performs the duties associated with the rental of equipment. Conducts pre and post rental inspection of equipment with customers. Greets customers and assists them with rental transactions, directions to equipment usage areas and information regarding outdoor adventure programs. Provides routine maintenance on rental equipment, i.e. simple bike repair, ski tuning, winter equipment cleaning and tube repair. Occasionally be required to operate a motor vehicle. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to safeguard funds and equipment. Knowledge of basic bicycle, ski and snowboard usage and maintenance is desirable. Ability to resolve common arithmetic problems and make change when receiving payments from customers. Must be able to routinely lift objects weighing 20 pounds and objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors. Availability to work weekends and holidays. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
