POSITION OVERVIEW

As Hotel Shop Engineer at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, you will be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of an already great property. Your conscientious contributions and attention to detail will ensure the functionality of our resort and the safety and satisfaction of every guest.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Perform routine inspections of hotel physical plant and property.
  • Maintain inventories of repairs parts and consumable supplies to support hotel building, grounds, physical plant, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and to maximum cash flow.
  • Receive and respond to incoming room calls, pages, and /or emails regarding electronic technical systems software/hardware problems.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records.
  • Having working knowledge of all hotel areas and be able to act as technical liaison.
  • Maintain total hotel property maintenance.
  • Keep hotel operations at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety in accordance with accepted engineering practices, procedures, policies, and applicable codes.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and accepted practices of the trade.
  • Identify and solve problems within existing time constraints.
  • Perform on site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex electronic systems hardware problems for a variety of end users.
  • Document instances of systems equipment failure, repair, installation, and removal.
  • Report on low inventory supplies for parts and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean DMV record.
  • Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report to the department leader and Risk Management every 6 months
  • Immediately notify department leader of any changes to the Nevada Driver's License status.
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • At least four years of journeyman experience in the area of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Experience with convention audio, visual and lighting equipment.
  • Experience with live audio and/or intelligent lighting
  • Possess general maintenance skills, knowledge of hand tools, lighting knowledge, electrical, plumbing, and personal computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air conditioning, and kitchen equipment
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Polished appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls. The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 100 pounds and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
