ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Comply with the latest insurance, local, county, state, and federal government, codes, laws, and requirements.
  • Determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, take necessary corrective action, and record same following specific departmental procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of hotel property, hotel staff and hotel services with hours of operation.
  • Respond to all service calls promptly.
  • Perform expert repairs and restoration on all areas of the hotel.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs of all electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform specific maintenance repairs of new construction as assigned on service requests.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance for carpentry and painting.
  • Perform room calls.
  • To follow specific departmental procedure in performing repairs, maintenance, alteration, and installation work in a safe and neat manner.
  • Fill out purchase requisitions for all parts required and submit to administrative assistant as per standard operational procedures.
  • Document all work performed, parts needed and parts used on service requests.
  • Ensure that all guest complaints are handled with extreme courtesy and promptness.
  • Complete work assignments with no rework required.
  • Follow up is a must and pertinent information should be passed on consistently in pass down logs and on white boards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, and return tools to their proper place.
  • Assist with training and developing yourself and department to full potential.
  • Expertise in hotel/life safety procedures (fire alarms, emergency generator, elevators, etc.)
