Summary About the Position: Fort Gordon is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) and headquarters of ARMY CYBER COMMAND (ARCYBER). It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. This is an Obligated TERM position NTE 13 months. Responsibilities Reviews dining facility operations including pickup and receipt of rations, food reparation, sanitation, and administration to insure an acceptable level of quality is maintained. Implements surveillance techniques and procedures to inspect food service facilities. Allocates quarterly supply funds to all operational dining facilities on the installation Manages allocated funds to ensure they are used properly. Coordinates the opening and closing of dining facilities due to field exercises, utilization rates, and/or other circumstances. Prepares command correspondence and gives briefings on the status of contract operations. Participates in mobilization exercises and coordinates with the units designated to mobilize on the installation and Reserve Food Service Support. Implements input for contingency plans in the event of full/partial mobilization Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position is an obligated position. An OBLIGATED position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s). This is a Term position NOT TO EXCEED (NTE) 13 months. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years total. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent. This position MAY be made permanent without further competition contingent upon verification of the incumbent's non-competitive eligibility (must be a 30% veteran, reinstatement eligible, etc., under competitive service). NOTE: Under the Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) selectees must be given a career or career conditional appointment; therefore, VEOA eligible veterans are not eligible to apply to this announcement unless you also have another type of status such as 30% or more disabled veteran. This position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or a Temporary Reassignment and may be extended for current Department of Army employees. At the end of this period, you will return to your permanent position of record, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing logistical support for food service operations 2) Establishing the highest possible safety and sanitary procedures in food preparation according with policies and regulations. 3) Managing dining room operations and 4) Monitoring proper timing and preparation of foods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: any field of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Contract Performance Management Quality Assurance Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
