$1,500 SIGN ON BONUS

Salary Range - $70,000 - $80,000 (BASES ON EXPERIENCE)

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for soliciting and servicing group sales business and business travel accounts in the hotel in accordance with the marketing plan and assigned market segments. Generates a high profile and quality perception in the market place. Responsible for generating group guest room and other revenues as described by the Director of Sales & Marketing. Also responsible for maximizing profitability and ensuring overall guest satisfaction.

This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and will be required to work mostly day shifts Monday - Friday with some nights and weekends depending on local and hotel functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Meet or exceed pre-determined booking goals for guest room revenue; meet or exceed budgeted costs and revenue on a monthly average with the liberty to negotiate as needed on individual functions within established guidelines yet maintaining the overall revenue goals.
Assist the Director of Sales by reaching the agreed upon business travel revenue goals, in particular by soliciting national accounts
Advanced level of producing business transient revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating and closing sales
Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients
Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented
Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts
Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account
Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers
Participate in daily business review meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings
Negotiate transient rates with clients on an annual and on-going basis.
Complete coordination of the Sales group functions; accurate and timely preparation of detailed Sales Contracts and Group Resumes as necessary to ensure a common quality understanding of what the client is to receive in terms of products and services. Review function contracts prior to distribution to client and hotel staff.
Follows up on the progress of groups booked, such as room night pick up, rooming lists, cut off dates, etc. with the Group Housing Coordinator to ensure maximum occupancy.
Generate "thank you" notes to clients after functions with prompt follow up of negative client feedback as necessary.
Follow up on bookings and solicit repeat business.
Represent hotel in community affairs and industry related events.

Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers and other departments as part of a team. Ability to build morale and spirit.
Ability to adhere to work schedule and arrive on time in a neat and alert condition and adhere to company dress standards.
Ability to follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation.
Ability to meet or exceed productivity and performance standards and complete tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Ability to take and give direction.
Ability to interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions, particularly in resolving complaints and problems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree or 2 years' equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have a minimum of 2-3 years' Hotel Sales & Marketing experience
Must possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Must have a vehicle and valid insurance.
