MANAGER OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND FOOD SAFETY

Happy at your current job? Looking for a new adventure and an outstanding opportunity? Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance/Food Safety Manager to join their team at this well-established food processing, agribusiness. If you want to work with an industry leader, read on.
-Oversee and ensure Quality Management System is in compliance with all Federal and State agencies and in accordance with applicable regulations and standards
-Provide leadership to Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs
-Oversee the overall quality and safety of food products and conduct regular GFSI, BRC, HACCP, and GMP assessments
-Leverage continuous improvement tools and industry best practices to improve quality systems and develop systems and processes that increase and improve operational efficiency
-Lead internal and external audit teams during audits of facility and lead the charge for BRC qualification
-Represent the company in regular and frequent contact with representatives of the regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, personnel, and consumer
-Interact effectively at all levels within the organization and effectively communicate food safety and ingredient/product quality concerns to senior management
-Transform data into meaningful information and define activities that will drive improvement
-Develop procedures, standards, and operational objectives guidelines for the Quality department
-Maintain accurate and complete records of all audits, testing, correspondence, and reports related to operations

REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Food Industry Management required
-5+ years of demonstrated successful leadership experience in the food production industry, Quality & Food Safety, HAACP, GFSI, BRC, GMPs, SOPs, and audits
-Knowledgeable about all food safety standards that are customary within the food industry and mandated by government regulations
-PCA license is a plus
-Strategic and tactical success in designing and executing highly effective Quality Systems
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Proven leadership and management experience
-Excellent communication skills verbal and written; bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
-Experience in USDA grading protocols, Vicam, moisture meters, and other quality control equipment, preferred
