Position Porpuse & Summary

This individual will be responsible to obtaining the meat Required for the grinding operation and loading it into the dumpers for the grind room. This job is required to operate a scan gun and document information of product usage and movement in the holding cooler. This role may require you to use a computer or a manual paper process to track processes and make reports. All forklift certified employees must go through Cargills forklift training to obtain the forklift license required to perform their job. This role encompasses operating a forklift to move raw materials within the facility. Scanning tasks included.

Key Accountabilities

Principal Accountabilities

Supports and contributes to effective safety efforts by adhering to established Cargill and OSHA safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures; wears appropriate PPE clothing and equipment during the performance of work duties; promotes accident prevention; reports injuries; utilizes proper lifting techniques; seeks guidance and assistance if needed; adheres to lock-out/tag-out procedures; and identifies and reports unsafe conditions
Ensures food safety and quality
Cleanliness and housekeeping
Maintains a safe working environment
Tracking, reading, or creating reports manually or via computer

This role involves physical activity in a food processing environment, which generally requires a moderate amount of exertion on a fairly regular basisinvolving bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing more than 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds. Walking or standing for extended periods of time will be required as well as the occasional use of stairs and/or ladders. The work may also involve other exertions, conditions or exposures (e.g. heat, cold, dust). This position is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces, moving mechanical parts and fast paced warm/cool environments. Personal protective equipment use is required in all areas of the facility.

This job is required to operate a scan gun and document information of product usage and movement in the holding cooler. The employee must ensure they scan and enter accurate information into the Syspro system. You will be working in an area near X-Ray producing equipment and will be required to attend X-Ray Awareness training. Lock out tag out (LOTO) will be required for this role and employee will receive authorized training prior to working on any equipment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to use a powered industrial truck (PIT) or be eligible to acquire license and maintain the license.
Must be able to comprehend basic math skills.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Previous computer experience.
Previous forklift and power equipment experience.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Previous warehouse experience
Previous food production experience
Recent related work history
