Operations Consultant (Franchise Business Consultant)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Results:

  • Works as a team player with Licensees, Field Support Specialists, and Operations Development Manager with little to no conflicts
  • Plans visits/meetings and learn how to adjust as issues arise
  • Visits locations within region to gain a better understanding of how they operate
  • Learns how to compare key metrics to present to the Licensee and management
  • Uses feedback from leadership to develop systems and understands what to document and how to store the information
  • Understands and attends to behavioral cues and body language to know how it affects outcomes
  • Builds relationships and develops trust by being in their locations and following through on commitments
  • Utilizes peers and leadership to talk/walk through different situations for suggestions on how to partner with Franchisees
  • Meets with Licensees and managers to learn what motivates them and tries different approaches for consulting within region
  • Learns how to develop action plans and presents to Licensee and management
  • Understands how the Consultant and Field Support Specialist roles work together to maximize outcomes and understands what areas to focus on to develop their Field Support Specialist
  • Spends time in the region getting to know their infrastructure and how they execute systems
  • Seeks guidance from peers and leaders when faced with situations that haven't been previously experienced and then organizes the results to streamline the process moving forward
  • Learns the difference in understanding their issue vs. being involved in the issue
  • Being humble in the beginning and making sure that you fully understand a topic before offering suggestions
  • Develops strong working relationships with other departments
  • Develops an organization strategy to maintain all documentation
  • Listens to peers and leadership talk about progress of the Licensees
  • Schedules time for consultations, administrative duties, and meetings
  • Actively learns other sub-departments in Operations and how your role can help them
  • Works with guidance from Operations Development Manager on feedback from the field and peers
  • With guidance, recommends new initiatives, equipment, and new technology
  • Feeds information back to peers and leadership for direction on which department to send information
  • Assists other ZFL Departments when needed & approved by Operations Development Manager
  • Makes note of observations to confirm data within reports
  • Attends all training sessions
  • Visits each restaurant in assigned region a minimum of once a year
  • Gains insight on regions internal structure
  • Follows up on inspections with Licensees and managers
  • Follows plan from Field Marketing Consultant on Local Store Marketing initiatives
  • Learns about the Field Operations Specialist (Openings and Inspections) role to be able to lend support as needed
  • Knows what resources are available and/or necessary to complete assigned projects in a timely manner and when to ask for them
  • Attends ZFL's annual conferences. Uses this opportunity to make connections and build relationships with other team members in Field Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Must attain and maintain ServSafe certification
  • Must maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal workplace health and safety regulations
  • Must be able to facilitate to management and team members a complete understanding of operational procedures
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Maintains a servant attitude. Operates as a business advisor. Must be willing to help Licensees grow through discussing weaknesses, threats, and opportunities within their organization.
  • Must be proficient in public speaking and presentations
  • Must have the following competencies:

  • Business acumen with analytical skills to promote active ongoing compliance to ZFL operations standards
  • Approachability and team work orientation to manage and lead others and assist in people development
  • Communicating and influencing with an emphasis on creating compelling messages and listening to the Licensee's concerns

  • Self-management by identifying personal strengths & weaknesses
  • Must have the ability to:
  • Operate a computer work station and MS Office programs
  • Perform basic math functions quickly and accurately
  • Meet schedules and timelines
  • Work confidentially

  • Deal with multiple priorities
  • Work well in teams
  • Complete work with many interruptions
  • Communicate in writing and verbally with tact, patience and courtesy
  • 75% travel / overnight travel required
  • Travel Area: Entire footprint of Zaxby's restaurants

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:

Education: Bachelor's Degree. BS Degree in Business/ Management preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years of related managerial experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
