Powai Lake has all kinds of birds, including cormorants, flamingoes, and ducks. Early mornings and evenings are the best time to visit Powai lake as the birds come out in large numbers. The best thing about this lake is the sunset view and behind stands the beautiful Hiranandani Complex. It’s incredible and picturesque, even on cloudy days. It is adjacent to the main road and is open 24 hours but I recommend not visiting there after 8 pm. 

2. Hakone Entertainment Centre – 

Hakone Powai is an exclusive sports and entertainment centre in the heart of Mumbai. It is located in Hiranandani Garden and is one of the best places in the city for all speed sports enthusiasts. It is a great place for adults and children as lots of gaming options are available. This entertainment centre suits the pocket without burning a hole in it. The entry fee for paintball is Rs 200 and for Gocarting it’s Rs 150 only. It is open all day in the week from 02:30 pm. to 10:30 pm.

3. Powai Dam – 

Powai dam is actually not very easy to locate. To reach there, you will have to first reach L&T Infotech. Once you reach you will see a garden exactly opposite L&T Infotech. The Powai dam is visible from inside the garden.

Although, only during monsoon time you can see the dam overflooding which is very beautiful to watch so plan accordingly. Some people also prefer to go in the dam water which is gushing at high speed.

4. Nirvana Park – 

4 acres of calm land, located in the middle of Hiranandani Complex in Powai, Nirvana Park will instantly become your favourite the moment we see the beautiful installations and stone paths to walk on. This is one of the greenest parks bestowed with small ponds. You will often see people feeding the goldfish. This park is a few minutes walking distance away from Powai plaza.

5. Cafes & Restaurants – 

Powai has both roadside food stalls and fancy restaurants/cafes. All the major fancy food joints have their outlets in the Powai area. Lake view cafe stands on top of the list which is located within The Renaissance centre. You will get the best view of Powai lake from this cafe. Sassy Teaspoon, Aromas, Starbucks, Chayos and Suzette Creperie & Cafe are some of the most loved cafes of Powai. 

Talking about the commercial areas in Powai, apart from all the attractions, Powai is also a home for many well-known companies including L&T and TCS. L&T is the first thing that will come to anyone’s mind if one says Powai. It is located in New Mhada Colony, Chandiwali. Hiranandani Business Park is also located in Powai where many companies have their offices. Considering all of this, many people do migrate here but finding an apartment on rent is quite tough in Powai as it’s a highly demanding locality. 

If we talk about the residential part, the rent is slightly higher here, but for a few people, it’s manageable with the kind of amenities one gets. The current average price for a 1-BHK apartment in Powai is about Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000 per month while for 2-BHK, the average rent is Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000 per month. However, depending on the view, location and other features, the rentals range between Rs 60,000 and Rs 80,000 per month for a 2-BHK apartment. There has been a good demand for rental units in Powai owing to the presence of commercial developments. Powai is majorly dominated by developers like Hiranandani, Wadhwa Group, Kanakia, Ekta World, and K Raheja.
