Bjarke Ingels Group’s designs cascading terraces in the Virginia School

Around 30 minutes outside Washington DC, The Heights public School in the Virginia city by BIG has very interesting design elements to offer.  Taking the Arlington neighbourhood urban density as the design cue, the school is designed with Cascading Terraces which provides each and every classroom with roof garden on top of classrooms below. The pivoted classrooms are connected by a staircase to provide access to each of the rooms and the rooftop gardens.
