1. Log onto- https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/en/ the official website of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and click the “Online Services” tab. On the mobile, you can go to the 3-line menu icon.
2. Go on the “Driving License Related Services” option from the drop-down list.
3. Select Karnataka from the drop-down option and, you will see a pop-up with the title “Contactless License Services.”
4. Select ” Issue International Driving Permit”

Read the instructions, download Form1-A (Form for Medical Certificate & Medical Fitness) and select continue. You will then be directed to another webpage for filling out the Application form.

To fill out the Application Form

1. Enter your Driving License number as per the accepted format and your date of birth.
2. You will then see your driving license details like its validity, state of issuance class of vehicles allowed, etc. Confirm your details and select your RTO from where you want to apply. Upload Signature & Fee Payment

• Once payment is successful, select “print receipt” to download or print the e-receipt.
• Fill Form 1 and get Form-1A filled by a healthcare professional/MBBS Doctor.

• Form-1 (Certificate of Medical Fitness)
• Acknowledgment Receipt
• E-Receipt of Fee Payment (If payment done online & was successful)
• Application Form receipt.

Submit all documents and do payment if not paid online or the online transaction failed.

Offline Application for an International Driving License 

1. Visit your nearby RTO Office between 10 am to 12:30 pm and collect Form 4A (Form for the Issue of International Drivers License) or download it from the MoRTH Parivahan website- https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/en/content/all-forms
2. Fill in the details as per your driving license and passport and list the countries you want the International Drivers License and your stay duration.
3. The RTO officer will verify and then attest the documents. Get the signature of the AO.
4. Give your biometric details and submit your digital signature with attested photocopies of your document.
5. Attach the necessary documents with the Application form and submit it. Collect your booklet and card.
6. If you have obtained your driving license in three or less than that, you need to retake the driving test.
7. Pay the fees that are currently ₹1,000.
