Age limit to obtain Driving Licence

  • An applicant above  sixteen years of age is eligible to apply for a driving licence to drive a motorcycle with engine capacity below 55 cc subject to the condition that the parent or guardian should furnish a declaration in the manner prescribed.

  • Medical Certificate is mandatory for all applicants over the age of 40 years. 

A certified government doctor can issue a medical certificate by Form 1 A and 1.

Choose “apply online” and from the drop- down select” new driving licence” or the appropriate option, you require.

 Read the instruction and press on ”continue”

You will be asked to upload the passport size photograph.

Finally, a web application number will be generated for the status of your application.

PERMANENT DRIVER’S LICENCE

The Facility of online slot booking for the test of competence of driving licence has been provided. Please visit the website for scheduling an appointment.

An application in Form 4, for a permanent driving licence, shall be made along with the Learners’ Licence obtained for such class of vehicle.

  1. The applicant will qualify to appear for the test of competence.  Most importantly, they hold a valid Learners’ Licence for at least 30 days.
  2. The competent authority conducts the test of competence.
  3. The applicant should bring a vehicle of the type to which the application relates.
  4. The applicant should cooperate with the officer conducting the test.
  5.  The applicants will be tested regarding his capability to drive the vehicle and his ability to perform the tasks specified in Rule-15(2) of the CMVR.
  6. Fees as prescribed along with user charges
  7. The candidate who successfully passes the test of competence  is issued with a driving licence.
  8. The Licence is sent through speed post to the address furnished.

INTERNATIONAL DRIVER’S LICENCE

International Driving Permit will be issued to an applicant who holds a valid Indian Licence and who is a resident of India.

The International application for driving licence  is available in the Government website in Form 4A
