MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd is to showcase two new TGS and TGL chassis-based vehicles at Tip-Ex 2021.

The event at the Harrogate Convention Centre takes place from 30th September to 2nd October.

On their stand will be a MAN TGL 8.190 4X2 featuring the popular CC Day Cab, and the second vehicle is a 32-tonne TGS 35.430 8X4 – both vehicles feature tipper bodies.

MAN NN short-haul low cab

Resting on top of the TGS chassis is the popular MAN NN short-haul low cab and a Townend Samson lightweight steel tipper with Edbro front end tipping gear.

Featuring a hardwearing and durable 5 mm floor and 3.2 mm sides, both in Hardox steel, the tailgate is air operated from within the cab, as is the ShurCo sheeting system.

Safety is in the form of a PM1155 4-cell weighing system and an in-cab audible body raised warning device.

Equipment includes straight beam front axles, MAN turning brake, MAN EasyStart, MAN SmartSelect, electronic parking brake control, LED rear lights, construction step and handle, stone protection for front headlights, comfort driver’s seat with heating and armrests, multi-function steering wheel, 12.3″ digital instrument cluster, climatronic air conditioning, cruise control and a 7-inch infotainment system with advanced sound system.

Shown in the widely recognised livery of PMW Quarries, this vehicle will join the PMW Quarries fleet directly from the show.

Ongoing partnership with MAN Truck & Bus

PMW Quarries is a family-run business that has been established for more than 35 years, after a successful expansion programme and the development of the ongoing partnership with MAN Truck & Bus, PMW are now in the proud position of being one of the largest suppliers of aggregates in West Yorkshire.

The MAN TGL 8.190 4X2 BB CH Tipper is powered by a 190 PS 4.6 litre, 4-cylinder, Euro 6D diesel engine, producing 750 Nm, linked to a 6-speed Tipmatic gearbox, featuring advanced MAN efficiency software, this vehicle has a 3050 mm wheelbase, steel front and rear suspension and a Hypoid single reduction rear axle.

Sitting on top of the 4.5 mm chassis rails is the compact CC Cab and a Thompsons Roadmaster body with front-end tipping gear.

Featuring a double-acting tailgate, with lug and fork hinge and dropside facility, with 3 mm floor and 2 mm sides, this body offers a lightweight multi-purpose solution that is popular with tipper operators in the 7.5 to 12-tonne class. Safety is in the form of an in-cab body raised warning system which notifies the driver if the body is raised while driving.

Equipment includes analogue instrument dials with digital centre cluster, manual heating and ventilation system, multi-function steering wheel, 7″ infotainment system, 100-litre diesel and 35-litre AdBlue tanks.

Both show vehicles offer a robust, efficient and environmentally friendly chassis platform suitable for a wide choice of customer application and body build solutions.
