According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple intends to release a new 24-inch iMac in the second half of the year. Gurman reports in his latest Power On newsletter that the development of two new iMac models has reached “a late stage,” with Apple having begun manufacturing tests.

Gurman anticipates that volume production of the 2023 iMac will not begin for at least three months, but the refreshed models will include several improvements.

Most notably, the 2023 iMac is said to include Apple’s next-generation M3 system-on-a-chip. Apple intends to release a new 24-inch iMac in the second half of the year.

Other changes could involve the internal components of the iMac, some of which have reportedly been redesigned by Apple. Gurman also claims the company intends to use a “different” manufacturing process to attach the iMac’s stand. Nonetheless, the all-in-one will have a 24-inch screen and be available in the same cheerful colorways as its 2021 predecessor.

Along with a new iMac, Gurman claims that Apple will release the long-rumored 15-inch. MacBook Air, a 13-inch model refresh, and the company’s first Apple Silicon Mac Pro. He anticipates that the Macs will arrive between late spring and early summer.

The new MacBook Airs will be equipped with M3 processors. Given that Apple already offers an M2 version of the ultraportable, Gurman speculates that “at least” the 13-inch model could include Apple’s latest chip.
