ABOUT THE BACKGROUND

Growing up in a Defense Personnel family, Dr Richa Mishra had the opportunity to study across various locations in India. Her academic journey showcases an impressive array of qualifications, including a Graduation and Post Graduation, Masters in Hospital administration, and a Ph.D. in Hospital Management from Pune University. Additionally, she holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the Swiss School of Business Management in Geneva and a Fellowship in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington. Dr. Richa’s educational background is further enriched by an MBA from the International Institute of Management Studies and Personnel Management from IIBM.

Her expertise extends beyond academia, as she is a qualified lead auditor for NABH and NABL for hospitals, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining quality healthcare standards. Presently, Dr. Richa is at the helm of several institutions, including the Shekhar Hospital, Hind Institute of Medical Sciences in Barabanki, and Hind Institute of Medical Sciences in Sitapur. These facilities collectively provide around 2000 beds for patients and offer medical education through nursing and ayurvedic colleges.

As the Director of Shekhar Hospital and the Director of Shekhar School of Nursing, Dr. Richa is responsible for numerous crucial tasks. These include overseeing ISO, NABH, and NABL accreditation, planning and designing hospital facilities, certification, staff appointments, training, and addressing human grievances. She also acts as the management representative for audits. Furthermore, she serves as the Founder Trustee of Hind Charitable Trust, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Medical Council of India (MCI) and actively participating in the planning, execution, and administration of Hind Institute of Medical Science in Barabanki.

This institution is a remarkable 750-bed super specialty hospital and medical college, accompanied by paramedical and nursing schools offering a wide range of courses. Sitapur boasts a 1000-bed hospital, while Safedabad in Barabanki is home to a 200-bedded cancer hospital. Dr. Richa Mishra, a dedicated advocate for women’s empowerment, operates an NGO known as the Adyant Welfare Foundation.

IN HER PRESENT ROLE…

Dr. Richa’s administrative prowess extends to Hind Institute of Medical Science in Ataria, Sitapur, which boasts an 850-bed super specialty hospital, a medical college, and a dedicated COVID hospital. Moreover, she spearheaded the establishment of Hind Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital in Gularia, Sitapur, further diversifying the educational offerings. Notably, she also manages Hind International School, catering to the educational needs of students from rural areas in Ataria, Sitapur.

In addition to her professional commitments, Dr. Richa runs a consultancy company specializing in NABH accreditation and medical college establishment. She is also actively involved in social initiatives through her NGO, which focuses on the welfare of women and children. This organization has adopted 15 villages in Barabanki and Sitapur, where activities such as ante-natal check ups, free medicine distribution, provision of sanitizers and masks, free vaccinations for women, cancer detection camps, and free legal consultations for women are regularly conducted. Furthermore, Dr. Richa exemplifies her commitment to empowering women by annually offering free education to five underprivileged girls in nursing and paramedical courses.
