Vivek Express is a network of express trains operated by Indian Railways. The then-Railway Minister announced these trains in the 2011-12 Railway Budget. The Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express is the country’s longest-running train. The weekly train travels about 83 hours across eight Indian states, covering a distance of over 4,200 kilometres and passing through eight states. There are four pairs of Vivek Express as of July 2013.

02 – Silchar Superfast Express

After being extended up to Silchar (Assam) on November 21, 2017, the weekly train Thiruvananthapuram Central – Guwahati Superfast Express was renamed Thiruvananthapuram – Silchar Superfast Express. With 54 halts, it became the longest-running super-fast train after this expansion. The train will take around 76 hours and 35 minutes to complete the journey. 2AC, 3AC, and Sleeper classes are available on this train.

03 – Himsagar Express

This weekly train connects Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in Jammu & Kashmir. It runs only Monday. It will pass across 12 of the country’s 29 states, stopping at 71 stations along the way. It has a running time of 73 hours and 5 minutes on the Journey. This train is popular with Indians from the south who wish to visit Vaishno Devi’s shrine. Passengers can choose between 3AC and Sleeper classes.

04 – Ten Jammu Express

The Ten Jammu Express also runs on one of the longest routes in India from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. It covers approximately 3600 kilometres and takes approximately 71 hours to complete. One of the noteworthy facts is that the train travels at an average speed of 47 kilometres per hour and stops at 62 stations during the journey. The train has two classes: sleeper and AC 2; the best part is that it operates twice a week.

05 – Navyug Express

Navyug Express is also India’s fastest train and the fourth-longest train, covering a total distance of roughly 3600 kilometres. The train runs at a speed of roughly 51 km/h and passes through over 12 states. The entire journey takes around 68 hours and 20 minutes to complete. There are total of 61 stops during the journey, namely Agra, Delhi, Gwalior, Jhansi, and other key stations.

07 – Dibrugarh Express

Bengaluru, Dimapur, Vijayawada, Guwahati, Kolkata, and other important cities are covered by train. One of the most notable features is that there are just 35 stopping breaks in between. The time it takes to complete its journey is roughly 68 hours, in which it goes through almost 7 states of India. The train is called the Dibrugarh express, however, it begins at New Tinsukia, which is around 15 kilometres from Dibrugarh.

08 – Dehradun Kochuveli Superfast Express
