Top upcoming Bollywood films postponed due to Omicron outbreak

Multiple Film releases were planned for January 2022. However, due to a surge in Covid-19 cases and restrictions imposed in various states, the makers of many top upcoming Bollywood and multilingual films have decided to push back their release date such as RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Prithviraj, directed by Akshay Kumar, and, are among the upcoming films on the list. Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor and Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas, both changed their release dates. Deepika Padukone Gehraaiyaan movie set to be released on OTT this month (January), will now be available to watch next month (February).

RRR

RRR, starring Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Ajay Devgn, produced by DVV Entertainments, and directed by SS Rajamouli, was set to hit theatres on January 7. The RRR release date, however, has been postponed. The creators of the film announced the postponed news on Twitter on January 1. “Keeping the best interests of all the involved parties in mind, we are forced to postpone our film.”

Prithviraj

A new release date has been set for Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan movie, which will be available on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The film, which was originally scheduled to be released this month (January 25), will now be available on Amazon Prime Video next month (February 11).

Radhe Shyam

The creators of Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, have postponed the release of their much-anticipated film. The film was supposed to be released on January 14, but the team chose to postpone it owing to the ongoing covid-19concerns.
