Prime Minister Narendra Modi established a national policy for the Covid-19 vaccination on 7th June. “The Centre Government will manage 25 percent of the covid-19 vaccine effort with states government, and this will be implemented in the next two weeks. In the next two weeks, both the state and the federal government will operate under the new guidelines,” Modi remarked.

All people over the age of 18 will be able to acquire the Covid vaccination for free, while those who wish to pay will be able to acquire it at a private hospital.

Modi also stated that the Prime Minister Gareeb Kalyan Anna scheme, which provides food to the poor, will be extended till Diwali. While praising the administration’s efforts to contain the epidemic, the Prime Minister emphasized that following Covid guidelines is the only way to battle this “invisible and mutating” enemy.

  • The remaining 25% quota will be obtained by private facilities, and individuals who are ready to pay for the vaccine may choose them.
  • Private hospitals can charge a maximum of INR 150 as a service charge.
  • Till Diwali this year, the Centre would continue to give free rations to 80 million beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana.

“The government has decided to extend the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana until Diwali,” says the announcement. During this epidemic, the government is assisting the poor with all of their needs as a partner. That is, by November, more than 80 crore people in the country would have access to free food grains in a fixed quantity every month.”

The private hospitals can continue to acquire 25% of vaccinations,” the Prime Minister added, “but their service fee over the fixed price of the vaccine would be set at INR 150 per dosage.”
