How to create your own visual identity

The visible images that your organization projects is known as it's Visual Identity. Its elements include logo, typography, colours, composition styles and imagery. Together they represent a larger theme and a larger message by setting the tone for the entire Brand, by helping your clients build a perception of your business.
A Visual identity for brand is important because with its help a brand can tell a story without uttering a word and can suggest abstract ideas by using visual cues. Knowingly or not, a brand is labelled as feminine, authoritative, playful, fancy by customers based on the colour choices, font and the way the website looks. Let's see how you can have a greater authority in your visual identity.

Defining your audience
This is the first step to build a successful visual identity. Without knowing your own audience you won't know what branding elements you need to project. Start thinking specifically in terms of gender, location, age, occupation, income and education level.  Knowing the audience that's active on social media and the ones that respond are also important factors to help you plan your campaign.

What value do you offer?
A motivational speaker's brand identity needs to give a composite picture of how he's helped people change their lifestyle and live whole heartedly. Ask questions. Why would anyone purchase your product/service? Are you offering advice or are you offering entertainment? Are you looking to fill a void or enhance a customer's life? It is important to identify what makes your brand tick.

Visualizing your personality
After understanding your audience and the value you offer them, you need to devise a plan to showcase your personality. The biggest challenge brands face these days is to present their personality visually without having a one on one conversation with their customers. This is why it's important to have an online brand presence that has a story beyond the written text. You can do this by incorporating visual references like colour schemes, imagery and photo filters. The way you use these and set them on your site plays a very important part to showcase your personality.

Connecting emotionally
To connect with your audience on a personal level, your brand needs to tell a story that will move them in one way or another. A fitness app is all about getting a couch potato from fat to fit. In this case, the goal should be to target the diminishing self-confidence of couch potatoes by motivating them.
Customer feedback is of utmost importance too. When you understand what your customer wants you will be able to endear to your audience you can also hire a branding design agency to help you.
