As the saying goes, it is not easy to beat someone who never gives up. Dr. Jack Kavanaugh is one such exceptional personality who has stood the test of time and proved his mettle. He started his journey by setting up a successful practice after completing dentistry in 1973. However, his life became completely disrupted in a skiing accident, which left him with a fractured neck and leg. 

Dr. Jack Kavanaugh was compelled to leave his practice and start his life afresh. He took up the challenge life had thrown at him in a very sporting manner and decided to serve people in alternative ways. He earned his MBA degree that helped him in setting the stepping stones for his new dreams. Later, he also completed his MD degree and pursued his surgical residency.

After doing his MBA, Dr. Kavanaugh started the second phase of his life working in mergers and acquisitions. He set up a strategic consulting firm called International Strategy Consulting Group with one of his former partners. A few years later, he bought Tech Team Global, a company whose market price soared to $27/share under his able guidance.

In the year 2000, he joined Calhoun Vision, Inc. as a Board member. This was a biotechnology firm focused on developing a light adjustable lens whose power can be changed even after implantation using the safe, non-invasive application of light. 

In the same year, he joined the board of Materia Inc. that develops and manufactures revolutionary catalysts and advanced materials and PreCash, a telecommunications and financial services company, as a board member. His unique skill set and natural business acumen helped him in developing different companies in a short time.

In 2008, Dr. Kavanaugh established ZetaRx Biosciences Inc. that dealt with innovative methods of cancer immunotherapy. He served as both the Chairman and CEO of this company. Later, it was sold to Juno Therapeutics that had the largest biotech IPO of 2014 and reached a market cap of 5.5 billion.

In his later years, he co-founded Novonco Therapeutics Inc., a company in the field of epigenetic. His interests in various fields extended his services to the energy sector, where he co-founded Nanotech Energy Inc. Currently, he is the chairman of SuperMetalix, Inc, RiverRock Films, and Orbsen Therapeutics Limited.

In his career, Dr. Jack Kavanaugh has founded and led several organizations that have revolutionized medical treatments. His excellent management skills and remarkable organizational supervision have steered many firms to prolific success. He is also associated with numerous philanthropic activities, including supporting various charitable efforts in and around Los Angeles.
