How to Become CA in India in Just First Attempt

CA is one of the most reputed professions in India, it is a challenging yet rewarding course to pursue an amazing life. There are amazing career prospects after becoming a CA. But the level of salary or remuneration of a CA largely depends upon the number of attempts taken to become a CA. If you have cleared all the exams of CA in the First attempt there are high chances of getting good pay scale that too in reputed firms, but if it takes a number of attempts to clear this exam getting a good job with good remuneration becomes tougher.

If you are a CA aspirant and are about to start your journey for this course, try to clear all the stages of this exam in one go. In this article, we will discuss all the key points, if followed will help you in how to become CA in the first attempt.

The CA Course is divided into three stages.

● CA Foundation
● CA Intermediate
● CA Final

In order to be a qualified CA, you need to qualify each stage one by one. The first stage is of CA Foundation, which the entry-level exam into this course. Once you pass this exam you can register for CA intermediate course, after you qualify both the groups of CA intermediate you can appear for CA Final exam but only after completing the prescribed period of Practical Training under a practicing CA. After which you will be a qualified CA.

To start with the first level of CA Course, the CA Foundation Exam (earlier CPT) is the entry-level exam, in order to pass this exam students need to score 50 %, marks in the exam.

Considering it just as an entry-level exam students take the preparation for this exam very lightly

and often end up failing it, which somehow demotivates them for the subsequent levels. So it is adviced not to take this exam for granted and try to give your best in this exam. And start preparing for CA Foundation immediately after the 12th board’s exams without wasting even a single day. In case you are considering preparing for the exam from some CA coaching institute, make sure you make the right decision, look at their past results then decide whether to join or not.

Once you have qualified the CA Foundation exam immediately start your preparation for CA Intermediate. In CA intermediate exam you have the choice either to give both groups together or give each group separately. Now whether to give both the groups together or to give each group separately depends upon your level of preparation. If you are well prepared, you can go on for both the groups if not then give that group first in which you are confident enough and then go on for the second one. The pass percentage of CA Intermediate is low so you have to be thorough with all the subjects and devote yourself completely for the preparation of the intermediate exam.

After qualifying the CA intermediate level. A student starts his practical training, before appearing for CA Final exam a student gets an approximate time period of the 2.5-3 year in which he has to attend the compulsory practical training and can prepare for the final exam as well. Pattern wise IPCC and CA Final are the same, both are subjective even the marking scheme is also the same. You get plenty of time for CA Final preparation if you have the right study plan, proper guidance and study on a regular basis, you can easily complete your course and take a good amount of revision. If you are prepared well in advance you won’t have to burden yourself during the exam time, your past preparation will help you stay calm during the exam time and you will be capable to perform your best.

Tips for How to Become CA in India after 12th

CA Course offers the provision of the Direct Entry Route for the Graduate, postgraduates, and for the candidates who have passed the intermediate exam of CS and CMA. In the direct entry scheme, you can directly register for CA Intermediate without appearing in CA Foundation exam which is compulsory to become CA in India after 12th and in order to make entry into the CA Course. The required percentage to appear in CA Intermediate for commerce graduates/post graduates is 55% marks whereas students belonging to other schemes are required to score 60% marks in their graduation/post graduation.

Only Difference between the foundation course route and the direct entry route is of entrance exam i.e., CA Foundation, you are allowed to skip this level in the direct entry scheme but you have in the rest of the levels in the same way as mentioned above.

Role of Articleship (Practical Training) in CA Course

Once you clear your CA Intermediate either first of both the groups you can undergo practical training under a practicing CA. you learn in the rest of the Level gives you theoretical knowledge it is in the articleship where you gain the practical knowledge of the course and its application which makes you industry ready. Articleship is a compulsory stage of the CA course, it is for a period of 3 years. You are advised to take articleship seriously and be regular in your practical training. So avoid dummy articleship. Irrespective whether you opt for direct entry route or foundation route. The period of artcleship remains the same for both the routes.

● There should be dedicated study without any distraction, avoid social media.
● Try to rely completely on ICAI study material
● Give as many mock tests as possible.
● Distribute the syllabus on the basis of priority for each stage.
● Complete the entire course in time so that you have enough time for revision, as revision is very important.
● Have faith in your self and stay motivated throughout your preparation
● Work hard but work smart.
● Try to maintain your speed in the exam, so you don’t leave anything unattempted.
● Take adequate sleep.
● Keep yourself physically fit by way of exercising, yoga or outdoor games.
