DIY Jeans! Learn to Sew Your Own Pair of Jeans

From bra making to Jeans making! The past three days with Lauren Tailor from @lladybird and a small group of women were been truly incredible. It was an intense 20+ hours of cutting, sewing, interfacing, hammering, seam ripping and more. I am so impressed and proud to say that everyone left today with a pair of jeans that they made with their own hands! See all the fun we had in today’s recap! I can’t wait to see Lauren in just a few months. She’ll be back this September to teach this class again! Click here to sign up!

Please note that all students wore their masks for the duration of the three days except for this photo.

Day 1 // 2 – 6:00 PM
Jeans class prep! After introductions, students determined their pant size plus any needed alterations. Lauren had samples in every size they they could try on. SUPER HELPFUL! After each Student tried on a pair, they cut their tissue pattern + fabric, marked pieces, fused interfacing, and prepared pockets and belt loops.

Day 2: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
We started early because it was a busy day! Students worked their way through the front pockets, fly front zipper, back legs and yokes, inseam and side seams. By the end of the day, had basted their inseam and outseam and tried on to double check the fit.

Day 3: 10:00 AM – 6:00PM
A more relaxing day, but the students didn’t let their guard down!! The last day was all about finishing. Students made final adjustments, finished side seams + back pockets, attached waistbands and belt loops, and finished with button holes, bar tacks, hammered hardware, and hems.
