I am so, so, so excited to finally release Maris, a brand new bralette and panty PDF pattern! Over the past several years, it’s been both challenging and rewarding to work with a range of women – from AA cups to plus size women, full busted women. women who have pace makers, women who have undergone mastectomies, etc. From sewing hundreds of bralettes, there have been a few things that regardless of size or body shapes, works. The Maris is a culmination of all those “best of” sewing and patterning into one style that would be flattering and supportive across all sizes.

OVERVIEW + INSPIRATION

The Maris bralette (View A) features a 3-part bra cup – a lower cup with a vertical seam that provides shaping and volume for all cup sizes – and a triangle upper cup. The bralette is finished with fold over elastic binding along the neckline and the underarm, and a Wide Elastic Band at the bottom, which gives additional support. Bralette also has adjustable shoulder straps and a front closure. There is a side stay with plastic boning to prevent side seam from rolling up.

The Maris panty (View B) is a mid-rise thong with side panels. Leg openings are finished with fold over elastic binding and waistline is finished with a wide elastic band.

While there are many things that inspired the Maris, a big one was offering a bralette with a front closure for women who cannot or have trouble putting a bralette over their head or hooking a bra from behind. However, if you do not like or do not prefer a front closure, it can be eliminated and there is a section in the PDF pattern about this.

SIZING

Sizing was extended – woo hoo! – and the Maris is available in XS -4XL and cup sizes A/B, C/D and E/F for each alpha size. Panty is also available in XS-4XL. It is, and has always been, extremely important to me to provide supportive, flattering and everyday sexy lingerie for a wide range of sizes. Bralettes, including the the Barrett and the Eloise, are designed based on a B cup. The Maris, offers even a wider range of sizes than previous Madalynne patterns, and each alpha size is available is 3 different cup sizes (from a 1″ difference in full bust and underbust to a 9″ difference). That’s 24 sizes!
