Normally, when the collab expert Colourpop drops a new collaboration announcement, people savour it. But surprisingly, not this time.
British YouTuber, Zoe Sugg announced on Instagram that she has recently joined forces with the brand to bring to life the Zoella x ColourPop Collection.
Zoe’s post reads,
“I can finally share the exciting news that I’ve collaborated with @colourpopcosmetics on a makeup collection! As most of you know, I’ve loved and used Colourpop for years (their eyeshadows and liquid lipsticks in particular are a staple for me) so I was delighted that they wanted to work with me on a collection!”

The theme and design is brunch with your besties (my fave meal time ) and with its 70’s design elements & perfect colours & formulations, I am OBSESSED with it all (have been sneakily using it for months, every eyeshadow look I’ve worn has been from the Brunch Date palette) Its available to buy online on their website from 10am (LA time) & 6pm (UK time) on February 27th! Speaking about the packaging, Zoe says, “The theme and design is brunch with your besties (my fave meal time)” The collection is said to have “70’s design elements & perfect colours & formulations.”
The YouTuber also chimed in that she’s been wearing the eyeshadows rather sneakily for a while. And promised more details and swatches soon.

Although there were many positive responses on Zoe’s post, there was a completely different story on Trendmood’s post.

MANY people called her Scamella, citing the travesty that was her advent calender. (Apparently, it was super pricey, and contained bags of confetti (?)) Whatever that story was, people are too disappointed to invest in her collection with ColourPop.
“I love colourpop but 1. I feel overwhelmed with a new product launch everyday. And 2. Who wants to buy from a scammer?”
“The packaging is adorable but the actual makeup collection is a major YAWN. And if the scamming stories are true, I’m really disappointed with them collaborating with her”
As far as the Zoella x Colourpop collection goes, numerous people are rolling their eyes over the palette. Neutrals with a pop of blue – nothing new there.
There is also head scratching over the choice of person. Since ColourPop isn’t easily available in the UK, and customs can be a bitch, this collab is all sorts of confusing.
