MISSION, Texas – The Mission Historical Museum is thrilled to host the much-anticipated Día de los Muertos Festival, inviting the entire community to partake in this vibrant cultural celebration. Taking place , Saturday, October 21, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the festival promises an evening filled with rich traditions and lively entertainment at the Mission Historical Museum (900 Doherty Ave, Mission, TX).
Día de los Muertos Festival is more than just an event; it is a celebration of heritage, a time to remember, and an opportunity to cherish life. The City of Mission is honored to host this tradition, especially within a community enriched by its Hispanic heritage.
This year’s festivities are set to be spectacular, featuring various engaging performances by the Mission Parks & Recreation Folklorico and the Crescendo Music Institute, among others. The event includes a community altar exhibit, food vendors serving authentic Mexican flavors, and international artisan vendors.
Adding to the cultural significance of the occasion, the festival will include a special altar dedicated to the late former Mission Mayor Norberto “Beto” Salinas, crafted by Mission’s Sister City, Francisco I. Madero, Coahuila.
Last year’s event drew a crowd of over 4,000 attendees, and this year’s festivities are poised to be even more enchanting. Mission’s commitment is to provide FREE community events that foster unity and pride.
