Catch the award-winning actor and director Lou Diamond Phillips at the Edinburg Conference Center At Renaissance from September 14-16, 2023.

Phillips first rose to stardom in the 1980s, delivering unforgettable performances in films like “La Bamba,” where he portrayed Ritchie Valens, and “Stand and Deliver,” which garnered him a Golden Globe Award nomination and an Independent Spirit Award. Not limiting himself to the silver screen, Phillips made his Broadway debut in 1996 with a revival of “The King and I.” His portrayal of King Mongkut of Siam earned him a Tony Award nomination.

In recent years, Phillips has remained active in the entertainment industry, starring in FOX’s “Prodigal Son” and the popular Netflix series “Longmire,” adapted from Craig Johnson’s Walt Longmire mystery novels. His wide range of television credits also include Amazon’s “Goliath,” FX’s “You’re the Worst,” CBS’ “Blue Bloods,” and recurring roles in Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and Netflix’s “The Ranch.” His exceptional skills earned him an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Drama or Comedy” for his work in Amazon’s “Conversations in LA” and History Channel’s “Crossroads of History.”

Phillips’s recent film credits are equally noteworthy, featuring roles in the upcoming Amblin feature “Easter Sunday,” Warner Brothers’ “The 33,” “Created Equal” directed by Bill Duke, and the Sundance Festival hit “Filly Brown,” which earned him the Best Actor accolade at the Imagen Awards.

Not just an actor, Phillips has donned the director’s cap as well, helming episodes for FOX’s “The Cleaning Lady” and “Prodigal Son,” AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” and ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Additionally, he’s an accomplished author with his novel “The Tinderbox: Soldier of Indira,” illustrated by his wife Yvonne, hitting the shelves in October 2020. His writing portfolio also includes co-authored screenplays for ‘Trespasses,’ and HBO’s ‘Dangerous Touch,’ as well as the Miramax feature ‘Ambition.’
