The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that we have unanimously selected Dr. J.A. Gonzalez as our Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent. 

The Board has been planning and working through an extensive search process, retaining the services of Walsh Gallegos Treviño Kyle & Robinson P.C. for this process, along with Dr. Saul Hinojosa, who served as our education consultation. 

Dr. Gonzalez is currently serving as the Superintendent of McAllen ISD. We believe that his experience, ideas and passion for educating the students of Harlingen CISD will help us build on the successes of our District moving forward.

Due to Texas law which requires a 21-day waiting period, Dr. Gonzalez cannot officially be hired as Superintendent until the Board takes that final action on or after August 15, 2023.
