The Rio Grande Valley experienced severe weather in the early morning hours this past Saturday. Extremely strong winds upward of 80 miles per hour and more blew through the area causing significant damage to area homes and businesses.

AEP and City crews worked around the clock to clear debris and restore power to over 150,000 homes hit by the storm. Most power was restored by late Sunday evening.
