AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Lindsey Wynne as Judge of the 468th Judicial District Court in Collin County for a term set to expire on December 31, 2020, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.

Lindsey Wynne of McKinney is an attorney at The Law Office of Michella K. Melton. Previously, she served as an assistant district attorney for the Collin County District Attorney’s Office for nearly 10 years and as an associate at The Shapiro Law Firm. She is a board member of the Collin County Young Lawyers Association and a member of the State Bar of Texas, Collin County Bar Association, Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Collin County Women Lawyers Association. In 2019, she was named as one of the areas “Best Lawyers Under 40,” by D Magazine, and is a featured speaker for the Texas Young Lawyers Association’s program:  “Teach Safe. Learn Safe. Be Safe.” She has volunteered as a speaker for the Wylie Youth Enrichment Program, McKinney Summit on Youth, and the Juvenile Sex Offender Prosecution and Training program. She also has presented a CLE on Juvenile Prosecution and aided law enforcement with their training in courtroom testimony. She has mentored local elementary and high school students as part of the McKinney ISD REACH Program and the Frisco ISD Mentorship Program, and she currently helps as a parent volunteer at her sons’ schools. Wynne received a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and a minor in Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was also a Texas Excellence Scholar.  She received a certificate of International Legal Studies from The University College of London, and Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas School of Law.
