Professional actress, Veronica Cartwright, will speak to McAllen High students on Thursday, Oct. 18.

Veronica Cartwright, Actress: Alien. Born in Bristol, England, Veronica is the older sister of the popular child actress Angela Cartwright. In her early career, Veronica was cast in a number of popular movies such as The Children’s Hour (1961), Spencer’s Mountain (1963) and Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds (1963). As such, she was cast as “Jemima Boone” in the popular television series.

Texas Border Business

Award-winning actress Veronica Cartwright will visit McAllen High and speak to students as part of the McAllen High Library’s “Teen Read Week” celebration.  She will be talking about her career and favorite roles. The event will take place in the McAllen High auditorium (2021 La Vista Ave. McAllen).

Ms. Cartwright will speak for about 20 minutes at each session and then will meet & greet with students, take pictures with them, etc. 

10:20 a.m. – 12:05 p.m. and 1:35 – 2:25 p.m.

Ms. Cartwright’s career goes back to 1958. She was in The Birds (1963), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) and The Right Stuff (1983) among many other films and TV shows. Learn more about her, here.
