Publisher’s Word: Pharr, Texas Soon to Inaugurate Recently Created Chamber of Commerce

Rebecca I. Arizmendi, is the new president of the newly created Greater Pharr Chamber of Commerce. Plans to reopen such a valuable entity had been in the works for some time. The current municipal administration, led by Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez, MD know and understand the value of this service to the business community.

Arizmendi comes at a crucial time. The City’s growth is visible and all over the city, so, the need to organize networking events among the current businesses is a must. Aside from networking, the plans that the new chamber leader has are numerous, and all are aimed to service, nourish, and attract new businesses to Pharr.

A New Federal Court for McAllen: According to Congressman Henry Cuellar, the Mcallen Courthouse is one step closer. A key committee of the governing body on U.S. court facilities has decided to recommend that McAllen’s courthouse be considered a priority.

City of McAllen wins 13 gold Pinnacles: McAllen was up against the Tournament of Roses, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Kentucky Derby festivals- major players that are very good at what they do and so to be competitive in that market says a lot about McAllen. More inside this issue.
