SENSEX ON FRIDAY
The domestic equity market continued to consolidate on Friday and ended flat, a day after the indices soared to a record high. The BSE Sensex slipped 8 points to 31,360 while the Nifty50 ended the day 9 points lower at 9,665. The market remained choppy throughout the day following weak global cues after the release of the ECB minutes on Thursday and a drop in crude oil prices.
SIGNAL FROM SINGAPORE
At 6.11 am, Nifty50 futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange were trading 5.50 points lower at 9,668, indicating a flat to negative opening for the domestic market
ASIAN MARKETS SHOW PROMISE
Asian equity markets looked buoyant in early trading on Monday on supportive non farm payrolls data in the US even as crude prices trended higher, reported CNBC. The Nikkei 225 was up 0.57 per cent and South Korea's Kospi edged 0.14 per cent higher in early trade. The S&P/ASX 200 was up 0.41 per cent.
US MARKETS GAINED ON FRIDAY
On Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index rose 94.3 points, or 0.44 per cent, to end at 21,414.34, the S&P500 index gained 15.43 points, or 0.64 per cent, to 2,425.18 and the Nasdaq Composite index added 63.62 points, or 1.04 percent, to 6,153.08, Reuters reported.
RUPEE STEADY
The rupee on Friday ended 0.3 per cent higher at 64.59 to the dollar, amid brisk dollar selling by exporters and public sector banks ahead of the release of US employment data later in the day.
