TODAY’S PATENT – INFANT TRAINER SEAT

James T. Sidney received his patent for the invention, “Infant trainer seat” (US4503571A), from the USPTO, on 12th March 1985.

The present invention relates to Infant training seats that mount to a standard toilet or commode. This trainer seat includes a standard seat that has a secured support frame, aligned with the opening of the seat. It also consists of a backrest system in an upright position.

The primary objective of this invention is to provide an improved infant training seat, overcoming the disadvantages of the prior art inventions. It aims to provide a device that is comfortable and safe for the infant to use where the infant is restrained to stay on the trainer seat while the seat is in position on the standard toilet seat. Further, it is collapsible and convenient for use as well as storage.
