Why this Team India might be the most dominant ever: 3 Reasons

The very dimention of the Indian cricket team has changed in recent years. Not very long back , team India was seen as a one or two man show. For more than two decades the team had been overdependent upon some key players.

Over the years be it Sachin , Dravid or for that matter any other star player, team India used to win matches on individual performances. Since the arrival of M.S Dhoni on the scene , things started to improve and moving in the right direction. The Indian team finally started to gel together as a unit . What makes this side stand out from others is the way each player compliments other.

3 Reasons Why This is the most Dominant Indian Test XI ever.

 1. Aggression

A captain certainly infuses his characteristics in his team. That is exactly what has happen to the Virat Kholi led team India. It is generally hard to find a player as aggressive as Virat on the field. He has never failed to express on the field, be it with the bat or his captaincy. We used to see Indian teams stumble under pressure situations. But, finally we can say that we have a unit that uses pressure and aggression as a fuel. We first saw these glimpses in the very first test match India played under Virat Kholi at Adelaide Oval against Australia. In the recently concluded series against England as well, team India went on to win on a couple of occasions despite the batting team posting more than 400 runs in the first innings. This is some never die attitude we love about the new Team India.

2. Five-Bowler Strategy

It’s been almost forever since we had been seeing Indian teams play with four specialist bowlers. The Indian cricket team till now was famous for its strong batting. In fact the Indian batsmen are often termed as the best players of spin bowling in the world. This strategy worked right for a time, before we realized that under sub-continent conditions it becomes almost impossible to pick 20 wickets with four bowlers.

Spin bowling has been the biggest strength for Team India for years. The ICC test bowling rankings ruled by Indian spin twin Ravichandran Ashwin & Ravindra Jadeja provides ample evidence of India’s dominance in the spin department. Both the spinners have been in peak forms and with Jayant Yadav coming good in his debut series, we might be loking at another bright prospect for the future. Mohammad Shami & Umesh Yadav are too bowling fast and Umesh in particular seems to finally found his accuracy. If worked upon well, this can well become the best bowling attack of Team India ever.

3. Bench Strength of team India

Remember the time when Team India used to collapse in the absence of a Sachin or a Dravid? The team seemed to lack options . The cricketers replacing them from Domestic circuit were no match to the lanky International fast bowlers or an Adam Gilchrist who would destroy them in a matter of minutes.

But now, with IPL in the scenario , domestic cricketers are much more experienced as they play with International cricketers. Be it with bat or ball the Indian Team now has ample of substitutes. We have enough evidence of the same in the recently concluded test series versus England. In Parthiv Patel , not only did India find a good wicketkeeper but an excellent opening option too . Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Ishant Sharma are excellent replacements for Shami and Umesh being very experienced. In Karun Nair India found a solid middle order batsman who announced himself in International cricket with a bang notching up an outstanding triple hundred in just his 3rd test match. Team India certainly has a top quality bench ready to make an impact.
