Development history of magnesium oxide chemical materials

At the beginning of production, only industrial grade magnesium oxide can be produced. After 1956, two products of light magnesium oxide and heavy magnesium oxide were successively developed. In addition, two more have been added that medical grade light magnesium oxide and medical grade heavy magnesium oxide. In 1962, electron tubes and granular magnesium oxide were successively developed. Activated Magnesium Oxide was developed in 1963. Reagent grade magnesium oxide was developed in the first quarter of 1965.

In the decades of magnesium oxide production, the production process has been explored many times. The processes of improvement and development are: In May 1960, the process of preparing magnesium oxide by boron mud carbonization was completed. In June of the same year, the process of preparing magnesia by pressurized carbonized rhizomatous soil was completed. In 1978, the technical research project for silicon steel magnesia was started. In 1981, the production process of heavy magnesium oxide was developed. In 1982, the recycling project of calcining converter water was completed. In 1982, the reform experiment of high-temperature production of magnesia by brine soda ash was completed. In 1986, a new process for the production of magnesium oxide by ammonium bicarbonate method was developed. In May 1987, a new production process of magnesium hydroxide was developed.

Many reforms have been made in the equipment used in the production of magnesium oxide, especially in the equipment of calcining and grinding. When producing magnesium oxide, crucible calcining and universal grinder are used. In 1957, the magnesium oxide calciner was changed to an open hearth furnace. In 1960, the magnesia calciner was changed to a vertical furnace. In 1966, a stainless steel small converter calcined magnesia was developed. In September 1978, a stainless steel converter was officially replaced by a vertical furnace to produce magnesium oxide; in the second half of 1979, a jet mill was developed to pulverize magnesium oxide.
