Singapore market open positive with Straits Times Index trading near 3208 mark

Singapore: Singapore shares open positive, with the Straits Times Index gain 6.0 points, or 0.23 percent to 3,208.0 as at 11:30 AM.

Advance to Decline ratio stood at 124 to 89, while 635 shares remains unchanged with 224.9M shares volume witnessed.

The most traded stocks were RHT Health Trust, Spackman, ThiBev, Genting Sing. Gainers included DBs, Venture, OCBC Bank while Losers were Sevak, Comfort DelGro, DairyFarm USD.

Oxley Holdings:
Company’s subsidiary agreed to sell 268 residential units in Ireland to Greystar Europe Holdings for 175.5 million euros (S$270.8 million). It would be completed before Feb 27 -2019.

Great Eastern (GE): The insurer company which owned by Singapore Bank OCBC, has planning share and purchase agreement to divest a minority stake in Indonesia insurance firm, QBE Indonesia, the buyer, PT Suryasono Sentosa, will receive a 5 per cent stake in QBE Indonesia following the transaction.

Micro-Mechanics Holdings: Company posted 20 percent fall in earning for the second quarter ended 31 DEC, 2018. Earnings per share for the quarter were 2.25 cents, compared to 2.81 cents in the preceding year. Micro-Mechanics will pay an interim dividend of four cents per share on Feb 18.

World Market


All US major indexes closed higher with Dow industrial closed at 24737.20, Major averages all climbed firmly into positive territory after ending Thursday’s trading mixed.

The Dow climbed 183.96 points or 0.8 percent to 24,737.20, the Nasdaq jumped 91.40 points or 1.3 percent to 7,164.86 and the S&P 500 advanced 22.43 points or 0.9 percent to 2,664.76.

European stocks also moved mostly higher on the day, although the U.K.’s FTSE 100 Index bucked the uptrend and edged down by 0.1 percent. The French CAC 40 Index and the German DAX Index shot up by 1.1 percent and 1.4 percent, respectively.

Gold Price: Gold price was up in early U.S. trading Friday, supported in part by a weaker U.S. dollar index.
