During a recent online poll conducted by a UK based travel magazine Which?, UAE was voted as the 2nd most Safest Country in the world when it comes to crime rate next to Iceland at the top. UAE beat highly global travel destinations like Thailand, Italy, France and US to this ranking.

Which? ranked 20 countries around the world based on the data produced by the World Economic Fund (for crime rates), the World Risk Report (for likelihood of major natural disasters), the NHS Fit for Travel website (for health risks), and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) assessment of terrorism risk levels.

All the reports came to a conclusion that Iceland is the safest country in the world at the moment when it comes to crime rates, likelihood of major natural disasters, health risk or terrorism amongst all its contemporaries. The UAE hence, stood second to Iceland with almost non-existent percentage of crime rates, likelihood of major natural disasters, health risks or terrorism.

However, downright through the bottom, the countries ranked with the worst crime rates are India, Thailand, South Africa, Turkey & Mexico.

Astounded by the diversity of the results itself, the Magazine stated: “Of the 20 holiday destinations that we looked at, Iceland, unsurprisingly, came out as the safest country. The UAE and Singapore were also considered extremely safe, with Spain the next safest of the six popular European holiday destinations that we looked at.”
