What is warp knitting?

The process of forming loops by feeding yarn parallel to fabric selvedge, into a Knitting zone is known as Warp Knitting. Every needle is given a separate yarn that is used for forming loops and in order to connect these loops into fabrics, yarns are shifted between these needles. The yarns are knitted simultaneously.

This is a type of knitting method where yarns zigzag along the fabric length and follow the adjacent columns of knitting rather than a single row. Knitting across the width of the fabric is also called weft knitting. Warp knitting requires an equal number of separate yarn strands, also called as ends to equal the total number of stitches in a single row which is why its done by machines, rather than hands.
