Skinny Yet Sedentary: Debunking Common Myths About Diet & Exercise

Health & Wellness in Modern Times

What’s the best you could hope for in life?

What is the greatest existence you could even begin to dream about right now?

It could be a gorgeous home or family.

Maybe it’s unlimited earning potential or complete and total financial freedom from a career path you thought would be rewarding on every conceivable level, but in all actuality makes you physically ill.

I don’t know what that is — only YOU do!

But I do know this to be empirically true beyond a shadow of any doubt whatsoever:

Unless you work-out daily, consistently, and dynamically, you will never even begin to know or understand what that is.

You can be skinny as a rail and live a sedentary, boring life.

You can also be morbidly obese, sitting on more Money than a King or Queen, wondering why you seem to only be able to accomplish fantasizing about looking spectacular in the trendiest threads money can buy.

And even though possibly for reasons by no fault of their own due to physical or mental limitations, people continually miss out on enjoying life as opposed to painfully drudging down the hours, as if life were a curse or some phase of reality they simply must “deal with.”

Sad.

People like these may never find the psychological fulfillment, optimal motivation, and perpetual abundance that springs forth despite Every Other Circumstance from embracing the benefits of living an Active Lifestyle.

Because that’s where it starts folks.

An Active Lifestyle

Sure life gets you down sometimes. We all get depressed. There’s nothing one can do about aging, but there’s everything one can do about Staying Active.

I’m not trying to be mean, but right now there is a VA grandpa with six-pack abs trying to teach his chubby couch-potato granddaughter the value of a great Workout. Find out what your motivation is for getting and staying in shape. Maybe you have a son or daughter who wants to join a sports team, but they have to go through brutal physical conditioning to be considered to make the cut. Let that be your reason.

A lot of us DO have a choice, and since you’ve made it this far down the page, I hope the remainder of this article will straight galvanize and motivate you to get fired up about life!

You have to look forward to kale and onion, jogging or hiking a minimum of five miles per day, and holding off when those hunger pains hit — cause if you’re not cheating yourself during your workout, they’re on their way like a Domino’s Pizza.

I rarely snack, but at times I will envy those who don’t eat a huge meal before 8 hours of sleep. They’re snacking the right way.

If there is some hurdle in my own personal method that I need to get over and “defeat” or “overcome” if you will, that would be it:

10 small snacks a day.

No meals.

Sound tough?

For myself, it’s called “Taking It to the Next Level.”

And just what does it mean to “Get Over The Hump?” as it relates to a good old-fashioned workout? That’s a phrase I put on repeat in my head when I’m mentally preparing to engage in great cardio.

I have a feeling that a lot of people dread the intense stuff if they’re simply sticking to a regimen like it’s taking out the garbage in the morning — some kind of chore. I’ve learned from that mistake and since conditioned my mind to enjoy the release of dopamine and endorphins one feels while engaging in rigorous exercise and sports.

Don’t just think about looking healthier (or the “end result” if you will) as your motivation for putting in the work, because not even you knows what that is — look forward to the process instead. Once you earn that, reward yourself and ride that second wind for all she’s worth.

Odds are, nobody’s paying you to run or swim.

You need to eat to lose weight.

Plain and simple. Don’t starve yourself. And unless you have certain dietary restrictions, you can eat whatever you want.

People obsess over their physical appearance like they obsess over money. Sometimes more so. Is being too wealthy anything like being too healthy? Can you have too much of either?

Folks, you have to spend energy to acquire energy, you have to spend money to make money.
