Adventure Forest Zip Lines

• The zip lines are open year-round, seven days a week. However, they are closed on Tuesdays.
• They’re open from 9 am to5 pm.

Airborne and Special Operations Museum

The Airborne and Special Operations Museum is located on Fort Bragg, which means you’ll need to make sure you have your base pass with you to get into the museum. The museum is open every Tuesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM, and admission costs $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years old. There are also reduced rates available for military members and their families as well as veterans who served during any period since World War II (but not including Vietnam).

The Airborne & Special Operations Museum preserves the history of airborne forces since 1940, showcasing uniforms, weapons, and equipment used by paratroopers around the world. You’ll see parachutes used by American soldiers at Normandy during D-Day. 

Learn about how early parachuters were trained at Fort Benning before being deployed behind enemy lines; see a replica Huey helicopter used by Green Berets during Vietnam; experience firsthand what it was like for an elite unit like Delta Force when they rescued hostages from Pan Am Flight 73 in 1988…and much more!

Cape Fear Botanical Gardens

If you’re looking for something to do in Fayetteville, check out Cape Fear Botanical Gardens. The botanical gardens are open year-round and feature more than 4,000 species of plants from around the world. If you love plants or just want to learn about them, this garden is a great place to visit. There’s also an arboretum with over 100 different kinds of trees arranged by species and type. You can take pictures here or just relax while you walk around the space and enjoy nature to its fullest!

Fascinate-U Children’s Museum

• Location: 101 W. Central Ave.
• Price: $12 for adults and children over one year old, $9 for kids under 1 year old, and free if you’re a family member or if you’re participating in a program or class.
• Age range: All ages! There’s something here for everyone to enjoy. And there’s even an area just for babies and toddlers who are too little to make it into some of the older exhibits yet still want to be involved in exploring the museum themselves (without wandering off). I would recommend this place as being particularly well-suited towards school groups because they have tons of programs and classes available that can help teachers incorporate some fun activities into their curriculum while visiting Fayetteville.
• Special exhibits: Right now there’s an exhibit called “The Scoop on Ice Cream” that explores how ice cream is made from start to finish—from how raw ingredients get processed into paste form up until packaging up at the end!

Fayetteville Downtown Square

Downtown Fayetteville Square is located at the corner of Dickson Street and West Avenue. It hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including concerts and festivals. A few popular restaurants and shops are nearby, including Drake’s 99 Barbershop & Shave Parlor, Brewskis Gastropub & Grill, Crave Dessert Bar & Café, The Coffee Cartel Coffee Company, and more!

Fayetteville Transportation and Local History Museum

This is a hidden gem. It’s right on the corner of Dickson Street, so you can’t miss it. You walk into this beautiful old building and they have exhibits that tell the history of transportation in Fayetteville. They also have a library there where you can check out books and read while you’re there! 

The cost to get into the museum is $5 per adult and $3 for children 6-12 years old, but kids under 5 are free! There are also membership options available if you’d like to come back often or plan on being there more than once! The hours vary depending on what day it is; during winter months (November – March), they are closed Mondays through Thursdays afternoons except for major holidays (Thanksgiving Day & Christmas).

John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Museum

The John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Museum is located on the Fort Bragg Army base in Fayetteville, NC. This museum is dedicated to the history of the US Army Special Forces and Navy SEALs.

The museum is open to the public and has a gift shop.

Market House

Fayetteville’s Market House is a great place to visit if you’re looking for a place with history and culture. The Market House, built in 1879 as part of the original Fayetteville town plan, is one of the oldest buildings in Fayetteville. It was designed by architect J.W. Carlyle who also designed the now-demolished Bank of Fayetteville building (now known as The Wachovia Building).

The Market House has been home to many different shops over its lifetime including a barber shop, library, pharmacy, and toy store; but currently, it houses several small businesses such as pet supplies store Pet City Plus or antique stores such as Junktique or Quaint & Unique.

You can find plenty of other attractions within walking distance including several restaurants (including my personal favorite Riley’s Sports Grille) breweries/wine bars; candy stores; bakeries, etc.

The Arts Center of Fayetteville

The Arts Center of Fayetteville is a great place to see art. It hosts many different events and activities, including live theater performances, concerts, dance shows, and comedy shows. It’s located in the historic Landers Theater Building which was built in 1914 by local craftsmen using native stone and wood from nearby forests.

The Arts Center also has a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch daily as well as dinner on Wednesday – Saturday nights with live music every Friday & Saturday at 6:30 pm (doors open at 5:30 pm). The cafe features locally-sourced products whenever possible including chicken from Farmer’s Gourmet Chicken Farm in Millington; beef from Hearty Hill Beef Farm in Fayetteville; pork from Caldwell Farms; dairy products from Blue Ridge Dairy Farmers Association; eggs from farms throughout WNC; vegetables grown on-site at the center gardens or purchased at local farmers markets such as Mountain Fresh Organics Market which operates every Wednesday through Sunday throughout summer months providing access to fresh organically-grown fruits & vegetables grown by local farmers across Western North Carolina!

Museum of the Cape Fear, Beautiful Historical Place

This is the perfect place for history buffs. The museum features exhibits about local topics such as Fort Bragg, a civil war artillery park, and even the story of Fayetteville’s founder Elizabeth Gordan. It’s located on Cumberland Street right in the heart of downtown Fayetteville so it’s easily accessible by foot or bike if you’re staying nearby. Admission is free!

The gift shop also has some cool things like souvenirs specific to Fayetteville/Fort Bragg (where most people will be visiting), but they also carry more general items North Carolina themed too like magnets, postcards, and t-shirts with sayings like “I’d rather be skiing” or “Carolina hills are calling.” Prices range from $10-$15 which isn’t bad considering what similar items cost at places like Etsy or ThinkGeek (if those brands mean anything).

If you find yourself having time between activities during your trip then stopping by here would not be a waste since there’s always something new every time I go back!
