The Users of Google Docs Can Now Fill Their Text with Emojis with Dedicated Reactions

A new Google Docs update can effectively fulfill your requirement if you need a bit more customization for your documents. Meanwhile, the office software would efficiently enable users to add Emojis to their work. It would allow them to search for and add more symbols directly to their text online. They just simply need to type in “@” after the term, object, emotion, or whatever they need.

Moreover, all users with their personal Google accounts can also get the new feature. The company pointed out that the update is based on its emoji reaction feature. Keep in mind that it was launched in April 2022 for Google Docs. This feature enables users to react to sentences and paragraphs. It is much similar to people reacting to messages in a group chat.

The New Feature Will Flag Up Irrelevant Language

The emoji reaction feature efficiently provides a less formal substitute for comments. This update is the latest release from Google Workspace. It is seemingly making offerings such as Docs more beneficial to customers around the world. The latest release also features a new update for Google Docs. It offers the ability to select multiple segments of text from different places simultaneously.

These segments are used for editing documents and making formatting faster without the need to make undiversified changes. Moreover, Google has also offered new writing assistant features to the word processing software. It includes sentence and synonym structure suggestions. This feature will also flag up any irrelevant language and examples for a writer to use active instead of passive voice.

The Language App Duolingo Conducted a Global Survey

A new survey from Slack suggested the use of emojis in your workplace chats can become stuffed with more scandals. However, the online collaboration platform has joined with language app Duolingo to survey global perspectives regarding emojis. The survey discovered some massively alarming inconsistencies among users related to specific meanings.

Most people use the same emojis as we use to chat, flirt, and story with friends in a way. The survey involves around 9,400 hybrid workers across Asia, Europe, and North America. It covered a range of different areas such as emoji meanings, opinions, and habits. Around 58% of respondents said the use of emojis at work enables users to communicate more effectively using fewer words.

Emoji Reactions Can Improve Communication

However, around 55% of them said the use of emoji reactions can boost workplace communication. Most famous use cases include the “eyes” emoji for taking a review for something, and “check green” to mark completion. One of the most popular emojis is “raised hands” to appreciate and well-done job signal. Around 52% of respondents said messages are considered insufficient without an emoji.

Meanwhile, at least 63% experience closer and more engagement in a conversation when messaging a person with an emoji understanding. Keep in mind that collecting and sending the perfect emoji is tricky. More than 50% of workers believe they are unaware of specific and multiple meanings of emojis. But the younger generations overall said the recipient often doesn’t understand our sent emoji reactions.
