After being sidelined for almost a month, Lionel Messi is all set to make his comeback for Inter Miami in their upcoming match against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. Messi sustained a hamstring injury during Inter Miami’s 3-1 victory over Nashville in a CONCACAF Champions Cup encounter. Despite scoring a goal, he was substituted off after 50 minutes due to the injury.

According to reports, Messi was on the verge of returning earlier this week and was considered a game-time decision for Miami’s CONCACAF Champions Cup fixture against Monterrey, although he ultimately didn’t feature. Now, he is poised to return to action this weekend, aiming to continue his impressive form. So far this season, he has recorded five goals, three assists, 18 shots, and boasts an 82.5 percent pass completion rate across three games played.

In his debut MLS season in 2023, Messi registered a goal, two assists, and 20 shots in six appearances for Inter Miami, who finished the season with a record of 9-7-18. This season, Inter Miami has started with a record of 3-2-2 and currently occupies the second position in the Eastern Conference, just behind Cincinnati. Luis Suárez, who joined the team this season, has made a sensational start to his MLS career, scoring five goals in the first seven matches.

With both Messi and Suárez returning to action together, Inter Miami will be hoping for a strong performance in Saturday’s match.
