Haryana CM Nayab Saini Criticizes Congress Manifesto, Affirms Trust in Modi’s Promises

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has taken a swipe at the Congress manifesto, highlighting that despite being in power for 55 years, the Congress now feels compelled to assure justice to the people.

Saini emphasized that the populace no longer relies on Congress’ assurances but instead places their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitments.

“The BJP has set a target of 400 seats and is poised to surpass it. Despite decades of governance, the Congress finds itself in a position where it has to promise justice. However, people now repose their faith in Modi’s assurances, not Congress’,” stated Saini.

The remarks from Saini come in response to the release of the Congress party’s manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections in Delhi on April 5. The event saw the presence of party leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi.

The manifesto, centered around ‘Paanch Nyay’ or five pillars of justice, promises various initiatives such as 50% reservation for women in government jobs, education loan waivers, distribution of mobile phones to students, among others.

Additionally, it pledges to conduct a nationwide Socio-Economic and Caste Census, amend reservation policies, and empower institutions to combat misinformation.

Commenting on the farmers’ stance towards BJP candidates, Saini urged them to acknowledge the BJP’s contributions to their welfare, asserting that the Congress cannot match the BJP’s efforts.

Saini made these remarks during a public meeting in the Ratia area of Fatehabad, in support of BJP candidate Ashok Tanwar for the Sirsa Lok Sabha seat.

Health Minister Kamal Gupta, addressing the gathering, expressed aspirations for significant electoral success, stating, “With 400 seats for the BJP, territories like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Aksai Chin will be reclaimed, followed by the incorporation of Pakistan and Bangladesh into India.”

The Lok Sabha elections for Haryana’s 10 parliamentary constituencies are scheduled to be held in a single phase on May 25.

In the 2014 elections, the BJP secured 7 seats, while INLD and INC won 2 and 1 seat(s) respectively. However, in the 2019 elections, BJP swept all 10 seats in the state.
