Modern School Barakhamba on October 22, organized a music and dance festival titled
‘Inclusivity In Festivity’, at their Annual Diwali festival, to motivate and encourage specially-abled students to unleash their talents and potential. The Chief guest for the occasion was
Modern School’s Board Of Trustee (BOT) Secretary Ambika Pant, joined by BOT Treasurer Mira
Pradeep Singh and School Managing Committee Chairman RSJMS, Mr. Ajay Verma.
Over 100 highly energetic and enthusiastic participants performed during the festival through
solo and group performances. The festival got a rousing reception from the viewers as the
participants showcased some exhilarating performances with utmost confidence. The
programme flaunted traditional and contemporary dance forms as well as some spine-chilling
singing performances, which were highly appreciated by the audience members.
This festival is an extension to their concurrent initiative ‘Sportability’, which is a unique sports
academy that enlarges the scope of sports by providing world-class training and facilities to
specially-abled people, keen to learn new skills. This initiative has inspired other Institutions to
imitate similar ideas at their own turfs. The endavour has produced a string of world-class
athletes who’ve made India proud at many prestigious International events.

Modern School Barakhamba is the first school in the National Capital that has taken up this
unique initiative, breaking barriers and truly embracing the values of inclusion and acceptance.
The School has been appreciated for its efforts and has inspired other schools to take up
similar models.
